Unless I'm mistaken, there are 4 mikes (483, 492, 494, and 495) that have not run in many years or ever on the C&TS.
I've seen discussions of 483 vs. 492. Which one is "closer" to running.
What conditions are these locos in and how much effort (time and/or money) would it take to get each one operational. I'm trying to get a feel for what it would take to have all locos running.
Do we have all the parts for the locos or are we short, for example, 2 air pumps and an injector?
As a side question, if we have 10 operational mikes, what changes in infrastructue (if any) would be needed? I.E. another 4 full time shop workers, a new 2-stall enginehouse with an overhead crane, better facilities in Antonito for storing locos, etc. ?
If we know about what we need for all locos being fully functional, we can keep it in the back of our minds as we make plans for the future. If we need a engine house at Antonito with overhead crane, maybe we design the site and structure for 4 stalls even though we initally only build one or two.
