Earl,
Just to expand and clarify - John moved to Elgin, Ill and worked for Greyhound Corp. as a dispatcher. We all thought that was a strange move, but John has always been a big traction/trolley man and I guess that was one of the reasons for his move to that area. I know he worked for Greyhound because he cracked a joke that has stuck with me. "What do you call a Greyhound that has broken down due to radiator problems? A dog in heat!" Blame John, not me. His next move was back to Phx for a while, then to Pottsville, PA. He was getting into professional model RR engine painting about this time. I believe he currently is living in Phx.
I just found these this morning. Apparently John was transferred back to Phx with Greyhound.
Tim Honetschlager (Roy's Train World, Mesa, AZ) arranged a trip on the San Pedro & Southwestern when Rob Bohannon was general manager back in the 'ninetes' for the Arizona Chapter of the NRHS (since de-chartered). Rob gave a looong speach on the platform prior to our departure. The engine had two jump seats that Bart Barton and I took advantage of on the leg back to Benson. The last time I ran into Rob was at Rail Fair in Scottsdale, AZ a few years ago.
Speaking of not seeing people for a long time, I have not see you since Suzi and I took you and Carmen out for dinner in Chama around 1998 (did I get the year right). Tempus fugit!
