I agree. However silly I think it is to try to backdate something in a manner that makes no sense, there's nothing silly at all in the C&T's going along with it. It's good business.
463 doesn't even look bad in this get-up. The idea of it is nonsensical enough (can't use a P-51 Mustang to fill in for a SPAD 13), but the work itself looks quite professional. The pieces are well-proportioned and appear real. Paint or weather that stack and smokebox so they match and it'll look better than the Rushton stacks that were actually worn by some of the Sumpter Valley mikados. Fit it with functional internals and the railroad may even be glad to have the thing. The headlight probably looks better than the standard round electric light. Silly purpose or not, it's good work.
