Durango's Greenmount Cemetary is the final resting place of many of those who worked on the railroad there.
Some of those listed include:
John c. Basher 1864-1947, senior engineer in the 1930s.
John Connor, 1898-1921, killed in accident in Animas canyon.
James Connor, 1886-1969, engineer on the last westbound San Juan, Jan. 31.1951, Chama to Durango.
John Dieckman, 1884-1965, engineer on the last eastbound San Juan, Durango to Chama.
Thomas Vincent Cummins, 1890-1955, engineer on the Chama-Dulce San Juan.
Thomas J. Cummins, 1892-1968, engineer and railroad official.
Dennis Cummins, 1932-2002, brakeman on the last D&RGW train over Cumbres Pass, 1968.
Alva F. Lyons, 1897-1990, noted narrow gauge conductor.
