I recall in a distant memory - 1970 era railroad (model or prototype is unknown) - a short 2-3 page article of a SG railroad fording a stream. I think it was in Ohio. It showed a diesel fording a stream with a couple of cars.

I guess railroaders (NG and SG) were a very resorceful bunch (i.e. the silverton RR's Corkscrew Gulch turntable and the Georgetown loop to mention narrow gauge items and Tahachapi for the SG to mention a very few.
