Well, I would like to add my 2 cents worth.
I agree with many on this subject. T'would be better as C&S 74. With most all other roads represented, and with all the changes made, this would seem the obvious choice. However, does CRRM have any agreement with the people at Boulder as to how the engine should be painted? This may drive this discussion, at least for a period of time.
But how about a few of you enterprising metals men fabricating a new "Bear Trap" in preparation. Positive thinking?
George Lund, for many years Roundhouse foreman Trindad and later did the C&S mechanical engineering work at 7th St., when I asked him about the engine and the conversion, took much pride even at the end of standard gauge steam (and close to the end of his life) on his design and work on converting the engine to Walscheart gear.
