I see that the G&Q is banning roof riding. This was one of the most amazing aspects of riding the G&Q. It was amazing to partake in and amazing that it was allowed. But I got the impression that roof riding was a long established third class tradtion that actually pre-dated the heyday of tourist roof riding.
I see in several videos that the G&Q had added railings to the car tops to make them safer for roof riding. But I recall that roof riding had grown to it full popularity during a phase without any added safety features on the car tops.
I wonder why it has now been decided to ban roof riding. How many deaths or accidents involving roof riding were there during the phase of tourist roof riding?
