Thanks for the update, Fritz. I'll be coming through Silverton on Friday morning--it'll be interesting to see what is happening. I do hope that someone is documenting the slide cleanup. That is a part of the living history of the railroad that far too often goes undocumented. From a historical viewpoint, the story of the both the railroad MOW people and the contract people that maintain the track and respond to incidents like this is just as important as the train operations themselves. The photos on Facebook are a great example of the both the real and the human side of railroading, too.
