Given the age of Lobato surprises like that are...well...not surprising. Superficial inspection can find only so much, you don't really know what you have until you tear the thing apart. I'm just hoping they don't find anything they can't fix....within the money available. This whole opening day bruhaha is nothing compared to the risk of finding something that can't be fixed with the money available.
Removing that first span today was a huge step forward, but nothing should be taken for granted since each time they remove an old span Lord knows what they might find. I'm kinda holding my breath until the first train rolls across.
