But you also have to remember that the #9 will be heading home most likely right around the time the #1 is ready to go, so even with the #111 in the mix, you will only have two, not three good-sized steam engines on the Loop.

However, they do have a third "big engine" in the #1203 so with the #1 and the #111, they should finally have the roster that they need on the Loop. I just think its a lot of work and a lot of money to end up with only one engine.......but with that said, I don't think there is a better option available. And if the CHS is going to spend the money anyways, then it looks like a great deal for the MCRR.

At least we are getting lots of work done to a lot of engines when all is said and done.

-#12 Major overhauled and operational
-#1203 desel rebuilt and operational

-MCRR #2 rebuilt and operational

As much as some people here hate the CHS, and I do think they have spent (not wasted) a lot more money then needed to be spent, I must say they they have done a lot for narrow gauge locomotive preservation if they complete all the projects above.
