It's for getting a nine yard kilt tailored. I was actually told by the company owner that if there were enough interest, they would sell the cloth to me at cost. I had approached him with it, and with ideas for using it in some way to help raise money for the bridge. There are enough local tailors that I'm sure we could get some work done if we were to get the material. This was his response:
"I'm always keen to help out in any way that's realistically possible. Regretfully it would simply cost us too much to provide this fabric free of charge. But if you wished to commission its weaving and perhaps have a number of items made from it for resale, I'd be happy to authorise a substantial discount on our normal pricing, of about 25%. This would let us cover our costs, and go through our normal systems. But that's about the best I can think of. Let me know if this would be of interest.
And keep up the good work!
Cheers
Nick"
