Thanks for the information on the 911. Indeed, based on Jerry and J.B.'s comments, if I was looking to model the USA 911, I'd be convinced to paint the car red. As my goal has been to determine the colors for USA 80851, 80852 and 80853 while in service, I've looked elsewhere for clues, such as the Army's standard practices and "restored" sister equipment like the SVRy #3.
If my "rail fan" comment offended you, my apologies... obviously, I was referencing the restored number 3, but specifically in the "USA 911" lettering, which I assume was applied for the Sumpter Valley's June 2006 rail fan event which, as I understand it, used re-lettered equipment.
I did not know that the SVRy was running caboose #3 lettered for "USA 911" as regular practice. My misunderstanding. I assumed the "911" lettering was applied for the rail fan event only, and not the normal day to day paint scheme in operation in Oregon. Thanks for catching my mistake!
