Fritz If you look at the picture in RGS Story vol 12 pg 242 there is a shot of the parlor room with the cabinet in the corner from 1938. And John maxwell's drawing of the car shows the desk as being there after the rebuild in 1925. However John was not there in 25 to make the drawing. So you could be right, the cabinet and desk could have been added by one of the receivers. And since this was the RGS I am not surprised that when the desk was added that they left the table brackets in place, rather than replace the wood to cover up where they were.
As for the green ceiling panel and stenciling in the cabinet, Ill ask around. It could have been there before the cabinet was added. In the picture I mentioned above the panels are painted white in 1938. So maybe the panels were like the inside of the cabinet and later painted white after the cabinet was added
As for the celestory windows. They were originally stained glass. Today they are plastic replicas. The stained glass was removed to preserve it. Ill get a close up tomorrow.
