Heisler Inurds Revealed

This was taken in the early 1970's when SVRR's Heisler, W.H. Eccles Lbr. Co. #3 was undergoing its initial return to service in Baker, Oregon. SVRR volunteers fabricated a sectional wood shop building down in Baker. Once the work was completed and #3 was operational on newly laid track in the Sumpter Valley, the shop was dismantled and reassembled at the new location. Here we see that the valve chest cover has been removed on the engineer's side revealing the slide valve. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
