Here is one of the Sumpter Valley Ry. Baldwin built mikes west bound in Boulder Gorge. This trestle replaced the original Howe Truss bridge that is seen in many early shots. Note that the trestle has an extra set of bents outside the narrow gauge foot print. This has made me wonder if the railroad built it this way just in case they decided to std. gauge the line later on. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
