This got buried on the end of another thread. Here is something to keep you busy between D&S Railfest and C&TS 40th Aniversary....


I have been waiting for this to get on our website, but the ticket office has info and is selling tickets, I guess I'll pass it on....

August 26 (Thurs), 2010 in conjunction with D&S Railfest and C&TS 40th Anniversary Celebration, the SLRG will be operating a photographer's special from Alamosa to La Veta and return.

Consist will be 100-year-old #18 and an all heavywieght consist of lounge car, 2-3 open window coaches and open observation car "Lookout Mountain".

Train will depart Alamosa at 700am returning about 700pm. There will be numerous photo runbys - as many as can be accomodated. I would guess at least 4 runbys each way - 8 in total. If there is time and other details can be worked out, we will run east of La Veta toward Walsenburg where 18 has only ventured once before.

Fare is a very reasonable $58.00 which includes a box lunch. Snacks and beverages will be available in the lounge car.
