Actually Ma Bell used the building for a while and it was my understanding that they put in the second floor, drop ceiling etc. In the mid 90'S the second floor was removed and the second floor ceiling was exposed like it use to be. It’s ceiling and roof were deteriorated pretty bad and the holes for floor beams destroyed a lot of the original plaster cast but the owner (Maybe Arvin) felt there was enough left to make molds to restore. I helped with the demo. He got a grant for like @ $300,000 and replaced the tile roof about the same time. (They removed tons of pigeon poop.) We did have a dinner party for the volunteers that helped demo the second floor after the demo (Just swept out.) and the owner did have plans to build a restaurant. To my knowledge a window or two were restored to see if they could be revived, but no other restoration work has been done. The hobby shop was in the other building that has the Union Station sign on it. Amtrak and a restaurant Puffer Belly are in a third building to the west.
