Greg:
My experience on the line as a passenger would say that you'd be a fool not to arrange for some time in the back country with the SL&RG. The scenery there is just as good as anything on the C&TS with the possible exception of Toltec Gorge.
I don't know if you could arrange to film on a day when a long freight was headed through west-to-east, but the switchback curves reminded me of a cross between Big Horn section house area and the curves east of Cumbres.
I was tremendously impressed with the line, and we didn't even get to ride behind a steam engine! :-) Hopefully Earl and the rest of the SL&RG crew will get back to work in the spring with some great steam trips
