Sebastien Have we possibly met at the Frankfurt Feldbahn Muesem ?
Well guys we have been busy every weekend, the steps in our plans have changed some. Since after honestly looking at the size of the engines and our access road through the woods it became clear that the only way to transport the engines is to the only road crossing at km2.5 close to Perus. But the problem is that the track and roadbed will not support the engines. 25 years of water and river damage will have to repaired and a ramp built to lower the rollable engines, 9 all told will roll after I get done with them. But six will have to be lifted as they are to far rusted. But to rebuild the line we need a dependable engine so we are attacking the DIEMA DS24 and it is going well except we are looking for a company to donate a Diesel engine like a Yanmar 33hp or something. We also want to mount a 220V generator in the engine compartment to use the diesel as a powerpack. I am preparing a slide show to upload to youtube but for now here are few pictures...
As I suspected from the stories about the bad LeRoi engine that couldn't be kept in piston rings so they use leather to the lack of wear on the wheels and brake shoes after we opened up the transmission it looked brand new...
and last week we started painting and replacing rusted sheet metal...the work continues, will only stop after we don't find an engine.
