Where is / Was the roundhouse located?

I found some articles online talking about a mob lynching at the C&L Railyard in 1881. A group of vigilantes hung a man by throwing a rope over the cross post of the... gallows... style turntable. It's noted that the yard was on 8th street.

Looking at aerial photos and modern maps I don't see where the yard was.
