Nice use of the overlay. In John's first picture looking north is the smokestack from Weidman's saw mill, and up to the right is where the main highway ran (still does, but not as a US highway). The Sawmill road drops down from the upper road and that can be seen in the photo.The first thing you come to now on the Sawmill road is the Budweiser facility from the south.
And my supposition that the mainline ran through the produce department at Wal-Mart is off by a couple hundred feet, going through the parking lot instead and right through the main stoplight and entrance to the shopping complex. John's second picture would be where the main highway bridge crosses and then the humane society sits about between the two tracks. Every time I drive that area I still picture where the tracks ran, and this overlay defines my mental pictures even better.
