Two years ago I was traveling back from a motorcar trip at Alamosa and came up From Salida to Denver along Hy 285 to follow the South Park. Somewhere around Buea Vista there is a famous truck stop that has a large picture of a lowboy truck with a flat tire getting repaired. On the lowboy is
K-36 # 481. Now I know that 481 came across to Durango by rail with the last movement in Dec 1968. I asked if any one knew about the picture, but no one did. By the autos in the picture and the price of gas it had to be in the late seventies. Anyone have any info on this movement?
I could see the D&RGW wanting to send it up to be overhaulded at Burnham since Durango roundhouse was not set up to do complete overhauls.

I forgot about this picture till I read this thread. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this. Please!
