One way to compensate for the adhesion problem on the Mason-Garratt engines proposed for the Georgianatown Loop-de-Loop (below) would be to equip them with two throttles and/or two reverse levers - one (each) for the front engine under the boiler and one (each) for the rear engine under the tender. To minimize slipping, the rear engine would not only have somewhat smaller pistons than the lead engine, its throttle would also gradually be closed and/or its valve gear adjusted as fuel (& water) is (are) used up ... eye rolling smiley
