Re: RGS #20

The heart and soul of a steam locomotive is its boiler. 20 is very lucky in that she gets to keep her boiler (the origional Rod Iron boiler was replaced in the teens if I remember right). Its this boiler that carried the locomotive from the teens to her retirement. and that same boiler will carry her for many years from now on. Her drivers are her feet, no prosthetics here, she gets to keep her feet.

Rather then looking at what is going to be replaced, why don't we look at all that she gets to keep. what parts of her will live on to carry her around that mile or so long loop in Golden, and maybe even back to her home away from home in Durango.

It is a gift that this historic locomotive will be able to run again, even with certain parts being replaced, but her heart and soul are still there, and in the end that is all that matters.
