I live near Mancos, about 25 miles west of Durango. I spent the better part of the morning digging out of 16 to 18 inches of really wet slippery snow. Took the tractor up the road, intending to make it easier for the guy who plows to get in to his equipment. Snow bucking was so heavy I had to borrow fuel from a neighbor after only travelling a mile (admittedly I started with half a tank, but that was all I had)
The stuff is so wet and heavy that when you cut through it, the light shining through is blue. My area had a power failure from snow on the insulators that lasted 24 hours almost, but since I have solar electric with battery storage, the wife and I were enjoying running water, lights internet and the tube while everyone else was cursing the dark (and the lack of candles)
Anyway, it has been a pretty good first wave of a storm. If it had that much ooomph by the time it got to the San Juans, the West Coast musta got hammered.
I did have a lot of neighbors stop by my shop to look at my current track car restoration project since they had nothing else to do until the road got cleared. (had to add some railorad content)
