Re: C&S Climax Line - a few answers

From Climax the grade disappears in the tailings from what's left of Bartlett Mountain. The tailings cover the former towns of Kokomo, Robinson and Recen.
The Bicycle Path from Frisco to about Copper Mountain (The Vail Pass turnoff) follows the old C&S grade. The D&RG grade was obliterated by the construction of I-70 in most places. The Blue River branch was officially abandoned in 1924 but portions remained as it was swapped for the C&S's Gunnison branches in about that same year (I have a copy of the operating agreements).
Dillon was inundated by the reservoir, but it was located on a branch line from Dickey to Keystone anyway and not on the main line from Leadville to Como. The branch to Dillon was part of a proposed line to be built north to meet with a UP line run South from Fort Steele, Wyoming (no relation) to meet at Kremmling. Portions were graded but never built.
The branch to Keystone was part of the UP's proposed "Denver cut-off" from Keystone over the top of Loveland Pass (Via a tunnel, and not the A&P) to connect with the Clear Creek Line at Graymont.
