Thanks for the added information. Speaking of non-standard practices, has anyone seen photos of narrow gauge power with an oxide red cab roof? I'm thinking of the view of a K-37 arriving in Crested Butte about 1941 or '42 that is part of the Woodrow Gorman footage that Blackhawk used to offer as "Bustling Narrow Gauge." Very clearly the loco has an oxide red cab roof, and appears to be basic black, rather than the olive green boiler jacket mandated by Standard Practice 57-L-179.
