Missing pilots and snow plows.

No there hasn't been anything stolin, but I've seen a recent picture of 315 with 42 in it and 42 is missing its pilot. Then I was looking at recent pictures of 498 and 493 and both of them are missing there pilots. Now has the DSNG been having to replace pilots on there operational engines or were they removed for protection? Are there any other engines missing there pilots? Also I was wondering how many DRGW pilot snow plows are left. I am talking about the one that go on the front of the engine. I was thinking that there were about a half dozen left. Well thanks to anyone who answers these questions.
