Bill white has a whole web page on the 6300 Flats

At one time "some" suggested that the 6300 series cars were made at the same time as the 40 refer were built 1926-1928. The cars were used at first without the rail support and they broke several of the cars while testing them. They reinforced all the cars with rail. The cars were used extensively after that!
So is the basic frame the same as the Refers?
