When we were trying to blow up the ashpit, the late Jim Finnell (God rest his soul) had his studio/model building biz (Durango Press) across the street in what is now the court building. He was at that time working on a painting that I am very proud to have hanging over my mantle in the living room. I called Jim and gave him a heads up about the incoming artillery fire - just in case we was adding some exquisite detail to my painting. He said thanks. Later he said the shotwave from the explosion nearly knocked the painting over.
Good thing I called........
