That may or may not be a happy dream. I wonder if it would be worth it to have the San Juan set on the C&TS at the expense of the loss of the two C-19s. Since one locomotive of the class is already preseved at the CRRM and the class is too small to be of regular use on the D&S or C&TS, chances are they would become surplus and go to static display or scrap. Not a pleasant thought.
All of us are partial to the Colorado/New Mexico operations, of course, but there are some of us that cherish the 2-8-0s more than the mikes. Particularly true of the last remaining serviceable Rio Grande Southern C-19. The loss of the 41 and 340 would be a tragedy of epic proportions IMHO.
