The two trucks are a different casting. The 5X9 box is bigger than the 4 1/4" X 7". When the cars went north they still had arch bar trucks. They were changed in Skagway. When we went to look at the cars, WPY said the old trucks were around until a few years before, then they scrapped them.
Now that I think of it I belive the smaller brass truck has a smaller center plate size. i'll have to check that.
