Things are happening at SVRy this winter! We have an Operations Manager that is on site to direct volunteers, and members are showing up! Last weekend ~dozen volunteers showed up in Boise to remove the axles from our #100 Whitcomb switcher for regauging. After many years absence and use as a standard gauge yard lokie, she will return from Idaho to SVRy soon for a complete overhaul.
Coach #20 "Em Eccles Jones" restoration is underway with much progress. The 'pride of the fleet' will have the clerestory completed, coach door frames will be reworked and repainted, doors installed, and vintage style lights installed before the season opens Memorial Day.
We are an all volunteer organization and welcome railroaders of any size, shape or expertise. Members and non members alike welcome! Work parties every weekend, snow, freezing, rain or shine.
