When what is now "The Galveston Railroad Museum" was established in Galveston an initial acquisition was from the Oregon Pacific & Eastern at Cottage Grove. That's the operation where much of the movie "Emperor of the North" was filmed.
The Center for Transportation & Commerce is located in the former Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe office building. The Moody Foundation acquired the office building which later became the location of a number of non-profits and helped establish the railroad museum.
