The Society has been around for many years. It is based on the British group who created the term for all kinds of old things that move in one way or another.
There are two ways to join, one is direct to the national group or through a local chapter.
Here in northern California the Knights Ferry Chapter is working on a non-profit status for the iron foundry that is still partly water powered.
They publish both a quarterly journal and a newsletter. lots of good reading there.
