AT&SF M190 Back in NM (NNG)

A friend of mine called a while ago and quoted part of an article in the ABQ paper today. Apparently, AT&SF Motor Car M190 has been been. returned to NM. It is presently stored in ABQ with the RailRunner rolling stock. Apparently it has been donated, presumably by either a buyer, or by the CA State RR Museum directly, to the state Museum of New Mexico.
At the risk of looking a gift horse in the mouth, this certainly raises some intruiging questions. It will be interesting to learn more about how this came about. A major question in my mind is what prompted CA to turn loose of M190.
Perhaps a contributor on the NGDF who is has access to more facts can shed some light. Lots of unanswered questions.
