Yep...that is where I make the enginehouse to have been. The "conveyer dump" for the Power plant would be directly behind it. I am not sure whether the plant was built before..or after the enginehouse burned. I have talked with locals who will tell me BOTH. The Historical Soc could probably tell me when the plant was built...but I have not ask....yet.
Was also wondering...I have the Railroads drawings of the enginehouse...via The John Maxwell Collection. They show NO attachments to the rectangular structure. However...there is NOT enough room between the track, and West wall for a parts room, or office.
I have talked with a Retired Section foreman from Montrose, and Bob Richardson also. They both tell me there was at least an office on that side of the building, and probably a parts room.
I have never seen a picture of the BACK of the enginehouse...So...who knows? Anyone?
