Johnny Grabeal's post has a ring of truth to it but the story of the absent marketing/advertising programs for the C&TS is a long and sordid story. It's what happens when you have railroad zealots trying to run the whole thing...and think that because they can count rivets, they are also experts at marketing and advertising. Nothing could be further from the truth as history will so testify.
This problem is still not sorted out, but one might hope the new Commission will find a way. One of the new Commissioners, I am told, chewed some serious 'tail feathers' of the so-called advertising agency the present operator has been using.
The present ad agency, and the relationship to the present management company and Commission is the source of some concern to investigators looking into this and many other issues. As one told me "we sense the strong smell of a skunk in the wood pile". We shall see what 2007 holds. I truly wish us all...good luck.
