Chama Roundhouse and Turntable *LINK*

This must be topic many interested in. I feel that there should be and will be a bigger roundhouse and turntable back in Chama one day. Also people need to be getting something done so the engines can be put indoors for the season WITH there tenders. The facilities in Chama are too small to handle more engines. In my opinion there needs to some sort of set up like on the DSNG. If there were be stalls added on the roundhouse the 1970's back shop should be made into something like the back shop on the DSNG. I have been in the DSNG back shop and was very impressed. Next the wooden shed on the roundhouse should be romoved and build 3-4 stalls on the side to start. I have looked at some drawings on the Ghost Depot site and there seems to be enough room to build stalls, that are BIG enough to store and work on the K-36's and K-37's, and still be able to keep all the buildings. As for the turntable not sure what to do there, but I would say take what you can get. I think it would nice to see the Alamosa turntable being used for DRGW engines. I think tere should a study and a game plan made to get a roundhouse/turntable started. Also the DSNG roundhouse could used as a model, but not building something that big. I do hope in the future Chama does have a roundhouse and a turntable which would make it look like a class 1 facility. At bottom of page is link to Ghost Depot with drawings of Chama roundhouse.
