U.P. Licensing Issue Resolved-Off Topic

In an agreement reached Nov. 8, 2006, with MTH Electric Trains, Union Pacific settled a lawsuit that had been going on for some time. In a press release UP and MTH said the agreement was beneficial to both parties and modelers everywhere. Under the agreement Union Pacific will drop its licensing fee for model railroad manufacturers. MTH in appreciation will issue a special locomotive in UP colors. This should also settle the issue of defunct logos being used from lines they have acquired. I am glad that UP realized the negative impact of the original licensing regulations. They have receive alot of great free publicity from the models cars and locos that carry their logo in the past. I know there has been discussion in this forum regarding use of logos on restored locos and if the UP would charge or not. Great news all the way around.
