C&TSRR Loco Work

Bob Wright stopped by the other day on his way home for a few days and he reports that he now has four locos being worked on in the Chama shop -- 489, 488, 484, and 463 -- with 487 over the drop-pit in Antonito. And, before the season starts Bob also plans to do more work on 497. The major projects over this winter are the full running gear rebuild of 484 and the boiler work on 488 to conform to the new requirements of FRA Part 230, Form 4.
On any given day the shop crew is likely to be working on two to three locos. As for the tasks being done on each I've reproduced below the work projected for each loco according to RGRPC's contracts with the Commission. Some of the tasks for 484 and 488 are already done and some other tasks have been added, but these lists give a pretty fair idea of the on-going shop work this winter.
