Hmmm, I usually prefer to live and let live. But let's be fair, Jay was at least 1/2 responsible for CREATING a lot of the rancor and hard feelings that still linger. The day that he posted a list of names addresses and home telephone numbers of all the people he was mad at is just one instance of the kind of abuse he has dished out to others. His continued bashing of posters on the other boards is another.
Don and Mike have done a good job of fence straddling here in the middle of a minefield. (OK mixed metaphor).
As for the-ashpit...As long as I have anything to say about it people will remain able to say what they think (be it profound or profane, intelligent or idiotic) with as little moderation as possible. Yes it has it's warts, but IMO it's better than censoring people just because you don't agree with them.
