Weber Patent Rail Joint

Several of the books about the Maine two-foot railways mention the use of a "Weber Patent Rail Joint," an object I don't recall seeing when I taught school in North Bridgton, ME. (No, the train was not still there when I was there...).
I've not been able to find anything about such a device by searching the Internet. Does anyone have any information, pictures, Weber connectors still in their original gift wrapping?
