Caboose roofs

I just built a model of RGS 0409. IN photos from the 30's and 40's it looks like the roof is silver. Model photos I have seen paint the roof black with a white or silver pinstripw at the edge. I am guessing that this models a black roof with flashing at the edge.
What says the board?
