315 passed its hydro.

May 12, 2006 07:51PM
This week a hydrostatic test was done for the FRA inspector and occaisonal NGDF contributor Micheal Ramsey, and was o.k.'ed with a few recommendations by Mike. Tomorrow a final roll of the flues is planned to seal some leaks, caulk a small leak around the dome base, replace three broken staybolts and start piecing together the air system. A stamping on the backhead dated 1895 indicated that the engine originally had an operating pressure of 170 psi. The pops will be set at 160 and 162 psi.
