Currently:
- USP #1 is in Riverside Park in Carlsbad.
- USP #2 is at the Furnace Creek Visitors Center in Death Valley.
- USP #3 is at the Los Angeles County Fairplex in Pomona California
- The Brill 55 is at Laws Railroad Museum in California.
I went out there a few years back and toured the line with a retired gent that used to occasionally run the steam lokies and the diesels. At that time, there were:
- Two tank car bodies, likely ex-DVRR and UV&P, are still near Carlsbad.
- There is a concrete dynamite bunker built into a hillside with 3' gauge wooden rails inside along the line. This is AWESOME.
- The mine at the north end of the line is still in operation, only with trucks. 8^(
- Loading bins standing over ties near the plant too.
I can't guarantee this stuff is still intact. I'd sure like to make it back out there again!
