Thanks to all who shared such valuable and otherwise unobtainable information on the 490s. I have no knowledge of current mechanical conditions but any chance of ever seeing the D&RGW retired 494 and/or the 495 traded for the 493 or 498 (both serviceable and used in 1968) or 499 (unserviceable in 1968 but a favorite and stored in the Alamosa roundhouse)? It seems such a shame to see the 493,498, or 499 surrendered to the vandals or weather elements when they may be in much better condition than the 494 or 495.
