Great Time At TRAIN Conv.

November 25, 2000 09:17AM
I attended my first Tourist Railway Assoc. convention in Ogden recently, and the future of Tourist railways, from the 2-foot Maine operations to broad gauge is secure. The quality and dedication of those people attending assures that.
It was a real pleasure to visit with others in the nation, and learn how they handle different situations, volunteers, FRA, costs, etc.
And the hosts at the Ogden Union Station were tremendous.
I was able to attend a tour to Promontory where both locomotives were under steam, and the volunteers there braved cold weather to offer their re-enactment. Thanks.
My only regret is that I was unable to attend the tour to Heber Valley, where they ran the first double header in over 10 years. I heard nothing but great comments about that.
To all of you that I was fortunate enough to meet, it was a pleasure. to Marty of the Huckleberry, I neglected to get your email address, so if you see this, email me back channel. Thanks
I am making plans to visit NCarolina's Spencer Shops in 2001. See you then Wrenbo.
