Men:
Not a real new subject but I just got through printing oout all of Carlos's photo's of 19 when they replaced the traction motors last June. I am stilll buffalo'ed about the way the trucks are connected together. It is obvious from looking at the pictures of teh one truck that the kingpin in the truck is fixed. Can't tell much about the other truck as it is under the engine. But there are good pictures of the tongs that connect the trucks. It appears that there is a block in the single tong that could slide sideways but would that be enough to conpersate for the radial movement of the pin without the one or the other kingpins moving also/ This is a question I haqve had as I understand that the trucks were nuilt for a rather sharp curve.
Any ideas?
