I got a DVD in the mail yesterday it was "Narrow Gauge in the 50's" from Greg Scholl. It has a lot of vintage footage and a lot of not very often seen footage between Chama and Durango. There are great sequences in the yards showing some servicing etc. Some of the best shots are when the excursion train meets passing freights. There is even a section where the 486 & 495 are being paced between Alamosa and Antonito. This film also shows the 4700N diesel being used as a helper on the Silverton Branch with the 476. If your serious about the historical aspects of the narrow gauge, and seeing the way it really was this is the film to get. Thanks Greg for sharing your personal family footage.
